After The Gray Man, the Russo brothers are planning their next film for Netflix. Michelle Yeoh and Stanley Tucci are on board.

The Russo brothers Joe (51) and Anthony (52) have just made “The Gray Man” a huge success on Netflix. Now the next film of the team is already on the streaming service. In December 2020, “Stranger Things” star Millie Bobby Brown (18) and “Guardians of the Galaxy” hero Chris Pratt (43) were announced as the main actors for “The Electric State”. As “Deadline” now reportsMichelle Yeoh (60), Stanley Tucci (61), Jason Alexander (62), Brian Cox (76) and Jenny Slate (40) round out the cast of the sci-fi film.

The Russo brothers will direct together. Christopher Markus (52, “Avengers: Endgame”) and Stephen McFeely (52, “Captain America: The First Avenger”) contribute the script. Production on the Netflix flick is slated to begin in the fall.

Film based on illustrated novel

The film is based on an illustrated novel by artist Simon Stålenhag (38). “Deadline” describes the point in time of the story as a “retro-futuristic past” in which an orphan girl (played by Brown) joins a robot and a dodger in search of her younger brother.
