Microids advances the release of Asterix & Obelix: Slap Them All! 2

Gallic excitement is currently in full swing, with the arrival of the Breton duo’s latest album, The White Iris (with Fabcaro at the pen and Didier Conrad at the pencil) in all the good creameries. Microids is therefore striking while the iron is hot by bringing forward the release date of Asterix & Obelix: Slap Them All! 2 until November 13 on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC in digital version. The physical versions will arrive on November 30, 2023, the date initially planned.

The love of fights

The latest trailer once again shows Mr. Nutz’s know-how in terms of aesthetic production. Asterix & Obelix: Slap Them All! 2 looks very good, and has quite impressive graphical fidelity to its original hardware. That said, aesthetics aren’t everything: the predecessor of Slap them all! 2 failed to convince critics, the fault of sluggish gameplay and overwhelming repetitiveness, despite solid graphics. In a recent press release, the studio committed to renewing the gameplay with a charged shot system, and to energizing the clashes. For the rest, we will stay on familiar ground, with a 2D beat’em up with horizontal scrolling, playable solo or in local co-op.

In the dubbing department, like the previous episode, we will find Jean-Claude Donda who lends his voice to Asterix since our beloved Roger Carel left us, and Guillaume Briat (the famous Burgundian King of Kaamelott) will do thunder Obelix.

Collectors will be able to grab the collector’s edition exclusive to the Nintendo Switch, which will include two golden figurines of Asterix and Obelix, along with Dogmatix, as well as the game both in physical and digital versions (via a code download). All this at the price of €69.99. The classic version will be available for €39.99.
