Microsoft: a new AI data center in Wisconsin

(CercleFinance.com) – Joe Biden announced Wednesday that he would travel to Wisconsin today to formalize a $3.3 billion investment from Microsoft, which plans to establish a new data center there to artificial intelligence (AI).

The American president, in the middle of the electoral campaign, emphasizes that the project based in the town of Racine will allow the creation of some 2,300 jobs during the construction phase and then 2,000 permanent positions.

In a statement, Biden adds that the program must replace a project carried out six years ago by the Trump administration, which was supposed to result in the creation of a Foxconn site specializing in the manufacturing of LCD screens.

The supposed investment of 10 billion dollars – which was to allow the creation of 13,000 jobs in Racine, had according to him never been finalized, thus costing some 500 million dollars to American taxpayers
