Already well established in the AI space, Microsoft is now expanding its relationship with Cohesity to better protect businesses against cybersecurity and ransomware threats.
On Tuesday, Cohesity, a data management service provider, announced a collaboration with Microsoft that includes new services on both platforms. “Cohesity integrates with Microsoft’s broad security, cloud and AI platforms — all to help joint customers secure and protect their data from escalating cyberattacks,” said Sanjay Poonen, CEO and President of Cohesity.
Through the integration of Microsoft cloud and AI services, Cohesity will be able to offer smarter, more reliable and more secure data management services to business users. For example, one of the highlights of the announcement is Cohesity’s new IA-ready data structure, which leverages technology from OpenAI to offer generative AI solutions that make it easier to detect and classify threat.
Cohesity integrates Microsoft Sentinel
Cohesity integrates Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft’s security information and event management (SIEM) solution, with its DataProtect backup and recovery solution. The combination of the two will allow users to access both incident reports and ransomware alerts, according to the release.
Additionally, Cohesity’s seamless integration with Microsoft’s Azure Active Directory – a standard identity platform – will allow users to securely access and manage Cohesity products such as Cohesity Data Cloud and Cohesity Cloud Services.
“This expanded collaboration will allow thousands of Microsoft customers and ecosystem partners to easily access Cohesity’s award-winning platform, including its differentiated scalability, simplicity, and security benefits, in scenarios hybrid cloud or multicloud,” Poonen said.
Data Protect now supports Microsoft 365
Microsoft also integrates Cohesity services to enhance its platforms. Cohesity cloud services are now available on Azure, including previews of Cohesity FortKnox, the company’s cyber rescue SaaS service.
Finally, Data Protect now supports Microsoft 365, allowing customers to back up their Microsoft 365 data to a data plan hosted on Azure.
Cohesity has also partnered with BigID, a data management company, to bring actionable data intelligence for data discovery, privacy, security and governance into users’ Microsoft environment, according to the release. . BigID has worked with Microsoft Purview to build a mutually beneficial integration that customers of both companies can benefit from.
