Two important bugs fixed
Windows 11 has not been spared from various and varied performance issues. After AMD processors some time ago, this time it was SSDs and hard drives that suffered in Microsoft’s new operating system. Indeed, at the beginning of the month, several Windows 11 users complained on the forums of a loss of performance of their SSDs and hard drives. Benchmarks in support, they showed spectacular speed losses, in particular at the level of the writing speed. The problem, however, only affected the SSD or hard drive on which the operating system was installed.
Even though the bug had been present since beta and had been reported to the company at that time, it was only in November that a fix in a preview version was made available. This patch is now available to everyone as it was included in the December update for Windows 11. Once this patch is complete, your storage should return to normal speed.
Another important bug that prevented some applications, especially those from Kaspersky, from launching after trying to update or repair them with the Microsoft Installer has been fixed.
New emojis are appearing
Other bugfixes are in the game: Issues with taskbar icon animations and audio, including volume control and temporary sound loss, have been fixed. The performance and reliability of the Start menu has been improved in this update. File Explorer also received several fixes and is no longer impacted by the bug that causes it to crash when you close the window after browsing your folders. Other fixes were applied:
- Microsoft fixed an issue that affected the rendering of subtitles in some videos;
- Microsoft fixed an issue that affected the performance of Task View, Alt-Tab, and Snap Assist;
- Microsoft fixed an issue that caused Windows Mixed Reality to crash when the Headset Presence Sensor option was disabled;
- Microsoft corrected printing issues;
- Microsoft fixed font rendering problems;
- Microsoft fixed an issue that could crash or crash certain apps on devices with a touchpad.
Emojis similar to those that can be found on Skype or Teams are also appearing on Windows 11, allowing all Microsoft products to have a common aesthetic at this level. Even better, the paperclip emoji is now replaced by the famous Clippy.
