Microsoft: Job posting suggests takeovers aren’t over for the builder

Microsoft’s takeover of Activision-Blizzard is one of the most stunning industry news of recent years. And inevitably, with such a deal which revolves around more than 60 billion dollars, the transaction takes time, so that it is easy to imagine that Microsoft could play it discreet in the coming months on the subject of new acquisitions. But a new job offer could prove otherwise.

Microsoft continues on the path of consolidation

Microsoft has recently indicated that it is looking for a Gaming Strategy & Development manager, in other words someone who can seek acquisition opportunities for the company. in order to develop the gaming sector of the latter. The manager would then be integrated into the Gaming Strategy & Development division, which is described as follows:

We work closely with the games leadership team to identify and assess growth opportunities. Our charter includes helping answer Microsoft Gaming’s toughest business questions, leading Gaming’s M&A program (e.g. Activision Blizzard, ZeniMax, Double Fine, etc.), and identifying and understanding key industry dynamics. ยป

The person chosen must then be able to identify current trends and assess potential acquisitions that could be discussed. In short, a person who will have an eye on companies likely to integrate Microsoft’s portfolio.

This does not mean, however, that we should expect a new takeover in the coming weeks.but we can legitimately say thatActivision-Blizzard is not going to be the last studio/publisher to be offered a handsome check from Microsoft.
