Despite the fact that the edge browser is not the most popular on the market, Microsoft continues to work on it, in particular to facilitate access to its applications, such as the well-known Office suite.

Discovered by a Reddit user, the Redmond company would seek to integrate quick access buttons to Office tools directly into the browser menu.

A feature still under test

For the moment this new option is only available on Edge Canary, the insider version of the browser. As with its Windows operating system, Microsoft is making a beta version of Edge available. It is via this channel in particular that you can have preview access to the new features that are added to it. As for most of the options in test, this one is not activated by default. You will have to go to the appearance settings of the browser to benefit from it.

Checking the option in the settings will make it available in the additional tools drop-down menu to the right of Edge. After clicking on the corresponding button, access to the various Office tools will be available to you on the right. Shortcuts currently only lead to web versions of Office applications.
