A first trial version for paying users of Office 365 on Windows
As we told you a few days ago, Microsoft wants to offer a brand new experience with One Outlook, similar to that available on the web client. It would replace Mail on Windows 10 and Windows 11.
Paying customers of Office 365 on Windows, registered in the beta program of the office suite and whose Outlook was the default email client on their PC, can now access a button that allows them to switch to this new version to discover the new one. interface.
As expected, the interface is closer to the online version with integration on the same page of emails, calendar and reminders, but also some new features already present in this preview.
A clearly refreshed interface focused on collaborative work
We can note the presence of message reminders, which will make it possible to no longer forget to respond to an e-mail received earlier in the day. Pins put the most important emails at the top of the inbox. You can also add a file stored in the Cloud to a message by simply typing @filename for it to automatically integrate.
In addition, Microsoft has integrated the Microsoft Loop components, which allow copying and pasting blocks between Teams and Outlook to work more efficiently in collaboration. If, for example, you embed a table, it will be automatically synchronized with each modification in the e-mails to consult only the most up-to-date version.
One Outlook is still a project in development, and Microsoft makes no secret of the lacks of this first trial version, such as support for Gmail, iCloud or other IMAP domains as well as the possibility of adding several mail accounts. . These options will be gradually integrated over the months.
