Microsoft will make a modification that is modest in appearance, but great in its practicality. The company plans to make it easier to copy and paste emails into Outlook using copy and paste shortcuts.
This is a historic shortcut on Windows: copy and paste with the Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V keys. It is also found on Mac, with the command Apple+C and Apple+V. A time-saving shortcut for quickly moving files or folders on a computer — or text on the web or in an app, for example.

Outlook will be updated in June with copy and paste
We can indeed already use the Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V commands on selected text in a mail. The option will be extended to the emails themselves soon. This is what we can read in a roadmap for Microsoft 365, the American company’s subscription formula to take advantage of its various productivity solutions.
“ Users will be able to copy and paste emails into Outlook using the Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V shortcuts, allowing them to quickly transfer emails to the desired folder, streamline workflow and improve productivity. This feature will be available in the new Outlook for Windows and the web ”, it is written.
This prospect, noted in particular by the MS Power User site, which closely follows news related to the Redmond firm, should materialize during June. The shortcut will apply to both the web version of Outlook and its Windows version. The option will serve as an alternative to drag and drop, which allows you to send an email to a directory.
The change announced by Microsoft, seemingly innocuous, is a “quality of life” issue, which sometimes greatly improves the user experience – this change can be just as liberating as learning the shortcuts to put emphasis on a capital letter. It’s a small thing, but life-changing.
