In recent years, the “dark mode” has become essential in the eyes of many users of applications of all kinds. Now it’s the turn of the web app to Microsoft Word finally put on a black dress.

Good news for regulars of the Microsoft Word web app: a dark mode is about to land. And one thing is already certain: your eyes will thank you.

Dark mode is coming to Word’s web app

In our daily lives, we spend a lot (too much?) of time in front of our screens. And this is obviously not without consequences for our eyes. In order to reduce the risk of eye strain, Microsoft has already implemented a dark mode within Microsoft Word. However, users of the web app were still not entitled to the same treatment. A situation that should soon change, according to the latest roadmap posted by the Redmond firm.

It’s through the website Neowin that the information has reached us. As leaked in the latest Microsoft 365 roadmap, published a few days ago, the American giant is currently working on the arrival of a dark mode within the Microsoft Word web app. And as good news never comes alone, this feature should be made available before the end of May.

Like the downloadable version of Word, the web app should now allow customers to set the theme to system default settings, or simply let them choose between light and dark mode themselves. , directly from the settings.
