Microsoft would announce the Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6 by the end of March


Windows Central recently managed to glean some information around the projects hardware from Microsoft. In a paper published on March 5, the media revealed that sources close to the Redmond firm were talking about an event dedicated to Surface in a little over two weeks, on March 21, 2024.

We learn that Microsoft will announce the 10th generation of Surface Pro and the 6th generation of Surface Laptop. According to people close to the project, “these devices will rival the iPad Pro and MacBook Pro in performance and efficiency”.

On the configuration side, Windows Central mentions models with Intel Core Ultra and Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite processors. The latter would have the advantage of providing “huge gains in performance and efficiency” compared to current models.

But that’s not all. Other developments would be present on the new Microsoft laptops:

Surface Pro 10

  • An Oled screen with anti-reflective coating that is brighter and supports HDR content;
  • A new front camera taking advantage of AI Studio effects;
  • An integrated NFC reader.

Surface Laptop 6

  • Thinner bezels around the screen and more rounded corners;
  • A new trackpad with haptic feedback;
  • One Copilot button;
  • An additional USB-C port on the right edge.

Artificial intelligence would also be at the heart of these new Surface laptops. In particular, we learned that Microsoft would launch the AI ​​Explorer functionality there. The latter will reference all actions performed on a PC to allow users to search for and view them again later.

For the marketing of the new Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6, Windows Central is talking about a two-stage launch: models with Intel Core Ultra processors in April and those with Snapdragon chips in June.
