Midjourney will soon free itself from Discord


Creating images with Midjourney from the web will soon be possible. The generative AI platform is preparing a site, which will serve as an alternative to the Discord software.

Discord will soon become an accessory in creating images with Midjourney. The generative artificial intelligence platform is in fact preparing a website from which Internet users will be able to formulate their instructions and see the results. In fact, it will simplify the use of the service by removing this third-party software from the process.

An experimental site is already open

This “return to the web” of Midjourney was announced on Discord, because it is here that the American laboratory spends most of its announcements – its official X account (ex-Twitter) only reflects a small part of them . The website is currently being tested and is in “alpha”, meaning it is still at a very preliminary stage. It’s unclear when Midjourney plans to launch it.

Access to the site is possible for Internet users who have already created more than 10,000 images with Midjourney. However, this threshold should be lowered little by little in the coming weeks to accommodate more people – which will also allow us to collect more feedback and check whether the site is holding up well.

Midjourney hasn’t indicated what will happen to its Discord account, but we don’t see the service getting rid of it — the software will likely continue to be used for creating images, but also for discussions with the community. There are in fact numerous exchange channels for showing your creations or making suggestions for improvement.

Today, Midjourney already has a website. However, this serves more as a showcase of what can be created with generative artificial intelligence. It is also on this site that we find documentation for making more precise “prompts”. You will certainly still need a paid subscription to Midjourney to create images, including on the future site.
