Released on September 1, these new editions of Ari Aster’s two now cult works are aimed at fans of the director and of particularly disturbing horror films.

On the one hand, you have Heredity (2018), the supernatural and psychological horror film, the director’s first feature film carried by Toni Collette and Milly Shapiro, and following a grieving family tormented by a demonic entity after the death of their grandmother who hid many secrets.

On the other, find Midsommar (2019) the folk horror film starring Florence Pugh and Jack Reynor as a dysfunctional American couple who travel to the Swedish countryside with a group of friends for a festival but get finds himself in the clutches of a sinister sect.

On the program, therefore, two widely acclaimed feature films, praised for the richness of their screenplay, their staging and for the performance of their main actresses, Toni Collette and Florence Pugh – films having brought in eight and five times more than their budget of departure moreover.

Heredity was even independent production company A24’s highest-grossing film upon release, a record that was held until the arrival of Everything Everywhere All at Once in 2022.
