Layoffs are still numerous, but the studios continue to flourish. This week, It is Midsummer Studios which has just opened its doorsa new team based in Hunt Valley, Maryland, which already has something to intrigue all simulation game fans.
Midsummer Studios is founded by creative director Jake Solomon and game director Will Miller, alumni of Firaxisa studio famous for Sid Meier’s Civilization And XCOM notably. They are accompanied by the COO And CFO Nelsie Birch as well as executive producer Grant Rodiek, formerly of Maxis who was producer and director on games and expansions The Sims. The young studio has already raised more than six million dollars to get started, thanks to investors like Transcend Funda company founded by Shanti Bergel, former producer of Sims.
Midsummer Studios is already teasing its first title in development, which obviously does not yet have a name, but which will be a next-generation simulation game, with creativity and storytelling, suffice to say that fans of the genre have their eyes glued to this future production.
