For several years now, Miele has been developing solutions aimed at simplifying the maintenance and cleaning of its products as much as possible: the washing machines use a system of proprietary TwinDos detergent cans and homemade CapDosing capsules, while the dishwashers of the G 7000 series are supplied with detergent products by a disk which also contains products for cleaning the tank (PowerDisk system). The German manufacturer took advantage of the Eurocucina show to unveil its cleaning solution for built-in ovens equipped with steam functionality, called HydroClean, a less toxic and less energy-consuming method than pyrolysis.

Thanks to this system, the interior of the cavity is cleaned with plenty of water, the user only having to determine the degree of dirt – three levels – of their oven, add a little cleaning product to the tank provided for this purpose and press on a button. To do this, ovens equipped with HydroClean technology use the steam generators they are equipped with to project hot water (approximately 70°C) mixed with detergent onto the interior walls.

Additionally, a sprinkler was provided by the manufacturer in the upper part of the enclosure to reach every corner of the latter. Please also note that, during the operation, the roof resistance lowers forward, always so that the entire enclosure is well sprayed. This washing phase is followed by a rinsing phase and a drying phase. The process lasts between 2 hours (for a lightly soiled oven) and 4 hours 20 minutes when the enclosure is very dirty.

On the less sophisticated models (and the least expensive, but the entry ticket already amounts to around €3,000), the clean water is contained in a tank. It is recovered once soiled in another container. On the other hand, more sophisticated built-in ovens can be connected directly to a water inlet and outlet; count on 5000 or even 6000 € for this type of device without including plumbing work.

One bottle contains the sufficient dose for cleaning.

Obviously, Miele has provided a cleaning solution called HydroCleaner, which must first be poured into the tank provided for this purpose, and whose filling port is located directly in the muffle. As is very often the case for this type of functionality, the manufacturer expressly recommends not using third-party products of which it is not the manufacturer; an effective method for retaining the loyalty of the owners of the ovens concerned and ensuring a regular income. In fact, the pack of four bottles of washing product, sold for €60 on the official website, allows you to maintain your equipment for a year.
