Tut at the top of the pile of files blocked in Europe, the migration pact experienced, on Friday, a first progress since… 2016. Chaired by Gérald Darmanin, the JHA Council (internal affairs and justice) allows the 27 to agree on a first piece of the vast reform of asylum and migration, according to the cutting method proposed by France, balancing “responsibility” and “solidarity”.
Three systems are validated by the Council: the regulation on the filtering of border entries (known as Screening), the Eurodac regulation (the file for comparing people’s fingerprints) and a third text relating to the solidarity mechanism of the regulation on the management of asylum and migration (known as RAMM), eagerly awaited by Mediterranean countries…
