miHoYo Confirms Genshin Impact’s Switch Version Is Still In Development

Nintendo gamers are still waiting Genshin Impact looking forward to Switch. Confirmed even before the release of the game in 2020, this version is still desired. The miHoYo studio reassures however, it is still a topical project.

Genshin Impact Switch is not dead

While the free to play open world is already available on PC, PS4, PS5, iOS and Android, Genshin Impact takes its time to land on Switch so well that one would have thought of a future outright cancellation of this port. Contacted by the Gonintendo site, the public relations manager for the West, Xin Yang, confirms that Genshin Impact on Switch is still in development :

“The Switch version is still in development and we will release more information as it progresses. »

Good news which has the merit of reassuring even if this long wait can be explained through several hypotheses. First of all, the hardware of the Switch, which is not always easy to understand when it comes to ports, even if the mobile versions (with equivalent or weaker technical capacities than the console) have proven that it was possible. The other explanation would be that miHoYo is simply too busy with his multiple projects and especially the follow-up of the game. Not to mention the current health situation in Shanghai which must undoubtedly weigh on the teams.

We also learned a short time ago that the 2.7 update was postponed to a later date. In any case, we imagine that a Switch release would further inflate already impressive revenues. For example, since the release in September 2020, miHoYo has raised $3 billion on mobiles alone.
