Dieter Bohlen’s early exit from “DSDS” came as a surprise. Jury colleague Mike Singer now comments on it. He thinks it is “a shame”.

Mike Singer (21, “Deja Vu”) and Maite Kelly (41) have to do without head judge Dieter Bohlen (67) in both the semifinals and the finals of this year’s “DSDS” season. The Poptitan drops out early due to illness. “I think it’s a shame that Dieter can’t be at the last two final shows, and I wholeheartedly wish him a speedy recovery,” said Singer when asked by the news agency spot on news.

Since he and Kelly are “always well prepared” and “professional enough”, says Singer, he is sure that they will “manage the shows well” even without planks. Nevertheless, the 21-year-old artist stated: “Dieter is a legend! We get on very well and that won’t change either.”

Thomas Gottschalk steps in

Just one day after it became known that Bohlen will not be present in the last two shows, the broadcaster RTL presented a replacement. Entertainer Thomas Gottschalk (70) will support Singer and Kelly at the jury desk. He explained about his spontaneous mission: “Firstly, one titan won’t let the other down and secondly, I had nothing better to do.”

The semifinals of “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” (also at TVNow) broadcasts RTL live on Saturday, March 27th, at 8:15 p.m. The finale follows a week later, on April 3rd, also at prime time.
