Miles Teller has landed the lead role in a series about the making of “The Godfather”. He replaces Armie Hammer in “The Offer”.

The US streaming service Paramount + has apparently found a well-known replacement for the leading role in “The Offer”. According to “The Hollywood Reporter” “Whiplash” star Miles Teller (34) will play instead of the disgraced Armie Hammer (34) in the series, which revolves around the creation of Francis Ford Coppola’s (82) gangster epic “The Godfather”. Instead of Hammer, he slips into the role of “The Godfather” producer Al Ruddy (91), from whose point of view the ten episodes of “The Offer” are told.

In “The Offer”, which does not yet have a specific start date, Teller is supposed to be one of the executive producers in addition to the lead role. In terms of content, the series is reminiscent of the Netflix film “Mank”, which is about the creation of Orson Welles’ masterpiece “Citizen Kane” and screenwriter Herman J. “Mank” Mankiewicz (Gary Oldman, 63) is at the center of the narrative.

For Hammer it is one of many roles that he recently lost, whether in the cinema, TV or Broadway. Several women made allegations of physical and psychological abuse by the “Call Me By Your Name” star. Los Angeles Police are also investigating Hammer allegations of rape. Since then, he has categorically rejected the allegations.
