Miley Cyrus' Super Bowl concert was full of emotion. Strong rock hymns with little music games were followed by quieter tones and a burst of tears.

Miley Cyrus (28) thanked the US health care workers with a moving concert. Before the Super Bowl LV on Sunday evening in Tampa, Florida, she played her best-known hits in front of 7,500 vaccinated guests. She received support from 80s icon Billy Idol (65, "White Wedding") and rock star Joan Jett (62, "Bad Reputation"). The stage performance of the 28-year-olds was more than impressive.

Full of energy, she sang songs like "Party in the USA", "Angels Like You" or "Prisoner". Her outfit: a leather suit in black and pink, which was strongly reminiscent of a cheerleading uniform with its tight cut and knee pads. Not only did the singer's numerous tattoos catch the eye, but also her well-toned stomach. While dancing and jumping around on stage, Cyrus' Muckis stood out visibly. The musician later switched to a glittering football outfit with significantly more fabric.

Hard shell soft core

Cyrus' performance of her hit "Wrecking Ball" made it clear that behind the artist bursting with strength there is still a human being made of flesh and blood. Suddenly tears flowed in the 28-year-old, her voice became brittle and she had to let the band continue playing without singing. She later explained to the audience that singing this song made her "feel completely broken and shattered". "I wear a lot of glitter and strong armor, but I also wear my heart on my tongue and that gets broken a lot," she said.
