Joe and Anthony Russo bring a new sci-fi flick to the big screen – with "Stranger Things" star Millie Bobby in the lead role.

Millie Bobby Brown (16) is still big in business: The "Stranger Things" star has now got a leading role in "The Electric State". Joe, 49, and Anthony Russo, 50, will direct and produce the film. This is reported by the US portal "Variety", among others.

Set in an alternate future, the science fiction film tells the story of a young girl (Brown) who realizes that a strange but cute robot she meets has been sent by her missing brother. Together they go in search of him and discover a big conspiracy. The story is based on the graphic novel by Simon Stalenhag (36). The Russo brothers have been working on the project since 2017, the script comes from the "Avengers" authors Christopher Markus (50) and Stephen McFeely (51). Production is scheduled to start in late 2021 or early 2022.
