Coal in Minecraft
the coal is an essential resource for your adventure on Minecraft. You will, in particular, be asked for it when you want to make gold or iron ingots, to name just these two examples. Thus, we explain in the following where to find coal and how to make its variant, charcoalon the title of Mojang Studio.
Where to find coal?
Although very important, the coalobtained on coal oresis not very difficult to find in reality, on Minecraft. You may as well see coal ores both in the mines and on the surface. However, if you haven’t seen any while looking around, we recommend that you go to mines or dig them yourself, it will be easier and faster.
the coal ore is quite easy to distinguish. This one strongly resembles the stone, except for one detail: the cube is gray, but has small black squares within it (as in the image above). Generally, you will find several coal ores glued to each other. Thus, do not hesitate to mine all around a block of ore, to recover a maximum of coal.
Note that the coal ore can be mined with any pickaxe. However, using an iron, gold or diamond pickaxe will reduce the mining time considerably.
How to make charcoal (variant)?
On Minecraftyou can very quickly run out of coal. If you don’t want to go back to the mines to collect some, know that there is another way to get this fuel, by making charcoal. As its name suggests, this variant is obtained by burning wood in an oven. If you don’t know how to craft an oven, on Minecrafthere is the recipe (requires a workbench and stone).
Make charcoal is absolutely not complicated. Now that you have an oven, start looking for wood. Use your pickaxe on the tree trunks, in the surroundings, in order to recover trunks. Then, use a workbench to make planks from the previously collected trunks. For example, if you have 4 oak trunks, you can craft 4 oak planks. Nevertheless, be sure to keep some raw trunks. From the moment you have several wooden trunks and planks in your inventory, interact with your oven and place the elements (here, tropical wood) as shown below.
Normally, after a few seconds, you should get some charcoal. All you have to do is perform the operation as many times as necessary. Note that you can very well, subsequently, replace the wooden planks with charcoal or even by coal.
