Minecraft Live: The Sniffer chosen by the community, announcements for 1.20

Until Minecraft Live aired, players were invited to choose like every year among three mobs in competition to know who would integrate the bestiary of the game of Mojang. At the end of the vote over several days, it is finally the Sniff who was elected with a large head and more than half of the participations (55%). A revenge for many since this new little beast was very close to the proposals in 2020 and 2021 which had been favored by the public on the networks but had not been retained in the end (the Moobloom and the Glare).

In a future update, Minecraft will therefore add this passive mob that revives old extinct flower species. After sniffing the earth, it sets out to sprout seeds to grow unique ancestral plants.

Minecraft Live was also an opportunity to see long gameplay sequences on Minecraft Legends, an action and strategy game planned for 2023 on PC and consoles and developed by Blackbird, a company founded by the alumni of Relic (the Warhammer 40,000 or Company of Heroes video games).

Mojang also took the opportunity to show 1.20, the next game update that will replace the Wild Update. No official name yet for this new major update, but we know that it is scheduled for 2023. Among the novelties, the arrival of a new type of wood with the bamboo (finally!), camels, hanging signs or blocks of chiseled bookcase. It seems that we are moving towards an update related to the desert according to the first images.

A news default skin set has finally been announced, with the characters of Sunny, Kai, Makena, Zuri, Efe, Ari and Noor in addition to Steve and Alex, bringing a little more inclusivity to the game’s base skin.
