Minecraft: Mojang explains that he learned not to show certain things too soon

Since its launch more than ten years ago, the developers of Minecraft keep adding content, sometimes minor, sometimes major. But not everything that has been shown, especially during special events organized by Mojang, has necessarily seen the light of day, which sometimes angers players. For example, fireflies were supposed to arrive in update 1.19 to enter the ecosystem of frogs, being their food. But the developers finally made the choice not to add them.

In a video from the Minecraft Now series, Creative Director Agnes Larsson explained that the studio has revamped some things, especially for the presentation of what’s new. Now, given his experience and to avoid disappointing players, Mojang will only mount additions and features that are guaranteed to be implemented in Minecraft and whose development process is rather quite advanced.

This will be done in particular on October 15, during this year’s Minecraft Live, which will lift the veil on the major update of Minecraft which will, most likely, be available during the summer of 2023.

For this Live, we’ve actually taken concrete steps to make sure we can really, really make those dreams come true. […] This year, we’re going to make sure that the features we’re showing have really advanced through the development process.

Mojang actually wants to avoid showing new things that aren’t ready after all, or that the developers aren’t sure they’ll add to the game. Of course, we will continue to refine the features with feedback, but we will be really sure that they will be integrated into the game. concludes Agnes Larsson.

See you on October 15, therefore, to see what the future of one of the most popular games of all time will be like.
