Every year, or almost, on the occasion of Minecraft Live, Mojang invites its community to vote for a mob that will be integrated into the game. Often, these are original creatures that provide a unique and interesting feature. At the end of 2022, the community mob vote concerned the Tuff Golem, a small statue that collects objects, the Rascal, a creature that plays hide and seek in the mines and the Sniffer, which allows you to find seeds. specials.

As you may have already seen, it was the Sniffer who was the big winner, and by far, with more than half of the players who voted for him (55.1%). The latter will therefore be included in Minecraft on the occasion of the game’s 1.20 update, which was also revealed. It will accommodate camels, which can be ridden by two people, but also new crafts, in particular for using bamboo. We can, for example, make rafts.
But to come back to Sniff, the developers clarified that this creature was once an integral part of the Overworld ecosystem. It will now be possible to bring them back to life, if you can get your hands on eggs. Once they hatch, you can raise the Sniffers and take advantage of their particularity: obtain seeds that only these creatures are able to find.
We will know more about the Sniff within a few months when Minecraft update 1.20 is released, probably in the summer of 2023.
