While the reshuffle of the government is imminent, the French start-up Hopium has announced that it has proposed the appointment of the Minister Delegate for Transport to its board of directors.

The French start-up Hopium, which builds hydrogen vehicles, announced on Monday that it had proposed the appointment of Minister Delegate for Transport Jean-Baptiste Djebbari to its board of directors, while the government reshuffle is imminent. “Hopium (…) announces today the strengthening of its governance, with the proposal of Jean-Baptiste Djebbari as administrator,” the company said in a press release. The appointment of Jean-Baptiste Djebbari “will be subject to the approval of the next general meeting of Hopium, on June 20, 2022”, it is specified.

This announcement comes in full reshuffle, while rumors are rife about the composition of the future government team.

Founded in 2019 by Olivier Lombard

The resignation letter from current Prime Minister Jean Castex is ready and President Emmanuel Macron assured last week in Berlin that he already knew the name of his replacement. Specializing in the construction of high-end hydrogen vehicles, Hopium was founded in 2019 by French racing driver Olivier Lombard. “I am honored and proud to welcome Jean-Baptiste Djebbari in this formidable industrial and French adventure”, declared Mr. Lombard, adding that the arrival of the current minister on the board of directors of Hopium “is a step major” in the development of society.

Former airline pilot, Jean-Baptiste Djebbari has been in government since 2019. He became known in 2018 as rapporteur for the railway reform project. Olivier Lombard said he could “count on his dynamism and his expertise” on the board of directors of Hopium, to “take up the challenges of tomorrow together”.
