An important reform implemented

On the sidelines of the Cannes Film Festival, the Minister of Culture made a major announcement on May 18. She indeed announced the establishment that a “children manager” must be hired for filming in which minors will be involved. “This will be a condition of access to aid from the CNC (National Cinematography Center)”she said.

This reform follows the freedom of speech of victims of sexual violence in the cinema industry. The actress Judith Godrèche, who filed a complaint against two directors, had in fact asked that a parliamentary commission of inquiry be appointed and studies this question during his visit to the National Assembly. Two months after this request, the deputies voted for a commission of inquiry into sexual violence to begin a work of reflection, which resulted in the proposal endorsed by the Minister of Culture.
