Director Jeremy Zag explains in the press kit that he wanted the songs to express the deep feelings of the main characters: “I wanted our songs to play a different role than they are usually given in musical animated films.
We are used to seeing a character sing when, for example, he opens the window, but here the songs express what Marinette or Adrien feel and find it difficult to verbalize in their daily conversations.
They also allow you to move smoothly from one chapter of the film to another. Thanks to them, we understand what the characters think, we identify their motivations and we progress in the story.“.

Postcard from Paris
Like the series, the action of the feature film takes place in Paris and offers a visit of the capital which will delight the spectators: cobbled streets, Pyramid of the Louvre, palace the Plaza Athénée, Notre-Dame, the Tower- Eiffel… So many emblematic places that make the film a real postcard of the City of Light.
The director also says about it:Our artistic director Jérôme Cointre has transformed Paris into a fairy tale universe serving as the backdrop for the plot. This is another reason why the saga has so many fans around the world.
People are happy to find the different districts of Paris and its emblematic monuments there, and we transposed this dimension into the film. This is the first time, or almost, that a musical animated film has taken place in Paris.
We don’t have gigantic buildings like the New York skyscrapers often used as sets in superhero movies. But the architecture of the city has cachet, it has an ancestral history and it gives off a lot of emotion.”

What can worry them : If your children are regulars of the animated series, you are on familiar ground. Otherwise know that the transformation of Adrien’s father into Papillon and the final fight can worry the youngest.
