For years, Miranda Kerr (40) conquered the international catwalks of great designers, adorned the covers of well-known fashion magazines and acted as the face of fashion, jewelery and beauty labels. But the native Australian also made a name for herself as the wife of the famous actor Orlando Bloom (46). Today she is the mother of three children, married for the second time and copes with the everyday life of her large patchwork family almost effortlessly. As she turns 40 on April 20, here are some fun facts about the Australian beauty.
Made famous by Victoria’s Secret
Despite graduating from high school and planning to study nutrition and health psychology, Kerr’s interest in fashion was greater in her youth. After winning a modeling contest at age 13, Kerr posed for an Ober Jeans Paris ad campaign in 2004. The photos ended up in the fashion magazines “Vogue” and “Elle” and her catwalk debut was not long in coming.
In 2006, she walked the catwalk as an angel at the now controversial Victoria’s Secret fashion show – a moment that many models dreamed of at the time. This was followed by a contract with the model agency IMG and a great career in the fashion and beauty scene.
She twice replaced Gisele Bundchen
Kerr not only replaced top model Gisele Bundchen (42) on the catwalk at the 2006 Victoria’s Secret fashion show. In 2014, the Australian became the new face of the fashion manufacturer H&M – and inherited Bundchen again.
In addition, Kerr has long advertised for brands such as Reebok and Escada, and in 2013 she was chosen to be the face of the jewelry brand Swarovski.
She can sing!
What few people know: Miranda Kerr released a song with Bobby Fox in 2014. The single “You’re the Boss” is a remake of a hit by Elvis Presley (1935-1977). In 2017 she is said to have sung at her second wedding to Evan Spiegel (32).
A big blended family
Before she gave the Snapchat CEO the yes word, Kerr was with actor Orlando Bloom (46): They became a couple in 2007 and married in July 2010 before their son Flynn Christopher (12) was born in January 2011 . The separation followed in 2013.
Kerr met her new love in 2016: businessman Evan Spiegel and the Australian married in May 2017. In the two years that followed, two more sons were born.
And Bloom also found his happiness in love again: since the beginning of 2016 – with a short relationship break – the actor has been with US singer Katy Perry (38), in 2019 the two got engaged. Their daughter Daisy Dove was born in August 2020.
Gets along great with her ex-husband’s new girl
In June 2022, Kerr spoke openly in an interview about her relationship with singer Katy Perry and life together as a blended family. “I adore Katy and am grateful that Orlando has found someone to be happy with,” the Australian model told LVR Magazine. Flynn now has “four happy parents who get along,” Kerr added. Earlier this year, the two beauties walked arm in arm on the red carpet in Los Angeles.
