At the proud age of 82, “Harry Potter” star Miriam Margolyes celebrates her “Vogue” debut. And very courageously: Because in the British July issue, she even drops the covers.
Miriam Margolyes: Only pastries cover her breasts
The actress, best known for her role as Professor Sprout in ‘Harry Potter,’ posted several pictures from the shoot on her Instagram page. In one photo, she sits behind two bowls of pastries that cover her breasts. She wears nothing but jewelry.
The British woman gets a lot of encouragement from her followers for this courageous picture. “I adore you” can be read there. In the magazine, the 1.55 meter little actress describes that she struggles with her appearance. She likes her face. “But I hate my body. I hate big boobs and I have a pot belly, little bent legs.” But she tries to make the best of it.
“I’ve never been ashamed of being a lesbian”
The July issue of British “Vogue” is dedicated to the topic “Pride & Joy”. On the cover, the 82-year-old is cheeky with her tongue in the corner of her mouth. She had already come out in 1966. “I’ve never been ashamed of being a lesbian or anything. I knew it wasn’t criminal.” Her parents never accepted her sexuality. Nevertheless, Margolyes stood by her feelings and has been in a happy relationship with her partner Heather for more than 50 years, whom she met shortly after university. “I think homosexuals are very lucky because we’re not conventional.” That gives them an advantage. “We are good artists, we are good musicians.” She likes to be a lesbian.
