In an interview, Mirja du Mont tells how much she suffered from fear of failure as a mother after separating from Sky du Mont.
After 16 years of marriage, Mirja (47) and Sky du Mont (76) announced their separation in 2016. The two children of the celebrity couple were 14 and nine years old at the time. In the interview With the magazine “Bunte”, Mirja du Mont looks back on this difficult time and talks about her fears, which occupied her most at the time. Most of all, she was worried about her children.
That’s why Mirja du Mont blamed herself
“Of course I was scared after the breakup,” says the 47-year-old. “I knew we failed as parents in that moment.” Above all, she thought that she had failed in life. Her most important concern was that her children “not notice anything, have a good life and can fulfill their wishes”.
Mirja du Mont seems to have succeeded in this resolution. She apparently has an excellent relationship with her children – together with daughter Tara Neven du Mont (22), she even stood in front of the camera for the first time as a mother-daughter duo for a fashion photo shoot. “Tara has become such a wonderful woman. I’m proud to be her mom. She’s down to earth, modest and smart,” she enthuses about her daughter, who is studying “creative writing” in Berlin.
The 22-year-old also has only positive words for her famous mother in an interview with “Bunte”: “I know few young women who have such a close relationship with their mother as I do. She always does her best for us!” The 17-year-old son Fayn also belongs to the du Mont family.
