In 2023, miscellaneous events, occurring in the four corners of France, marked the spirits. Closer offers you to come back to some of them.
In Vendee, Leslie Hoorelbeke and Kévin Trompat, aged 22 and 21, were found dead in March after five months of searching. In January, another family was bereaved after the suicide of a 13-year-old teenager, Lucas, victim of school bullying. At the same time, in the North, Marie-France Dumortier and Richard Di Gennaro, an octogenarian couple from Roubaix, were discovered drowned in their car. In the Gard, in February, a case of femicide made the headlines with the murder of Sihem Belouahmia, 18 years old. Finally, in Brest, the charred body of Héléna Cluyou was found in the forest on February 9, 2023.
The year 2023 will also be marked by the road accident of Pierre Palmade which occurred in February. In Paris, in the Buttes-Chaumont park, the body of a mother of three children was found dismembered. In February, Julia Faustyna, a young Polish woman wrongly claimed to be little Maddie McCann, who disappeared in 2007 at the age of four in Portugal.
Two murders that left a deep emotion
Finally, in 2023, the murder in full course of Agnès Lassalle in Saint-Jean-de-Luz by one of her students caused a shock in public opinion. Just like that of little Rose, 5 years old, killed in the Vosges. The suspect is a 15 year old boy.

Drowning of the retired couple from Roubaix
Significant research had been deployed to find Marie-France Dumortier and Richard Di Gennaro, a couple of octogenarians from Roubaix who disappeared on January 1, 2023. They were discovered drowned in their car on February 8, 2023.

Murder of Sihem Belouahmia
The 18-year-old was found dead in the forest on February 2, 2023 about a week after she disappeared. The main crime suspect confessed in police custody and told investigators where to look for the body.

Murder of Helena Cluyou
A student in Brest, the 21-year-old young woman disappeared on January 29, 2023 in Brest. His charred body was found in the forest on February 9, 2023. The main suspect died after a double suicide attempt without being heard by investigators.

Pierre Palmade accident
The comedian was seriously injured in a road accident on February 10, 2023. Driving and under the influence of cocaine, he collided head-on with a car arriving in front of him in which there was a pregnant woman, her son. 40-year-old brother-in-law and his 6-year-old son. The woman lost her baby. The child retains heavy sequelae and his dad who has undergone a dozen operations will probably remain disabled for life.

Assia Matoug dismembered at Buttes-Chaumont
This 46-year-old mother of three was found with her dismembered body in several bags in the Buttes-Chaumont park in Paris on February 13, 2023. She had been married for 26 years to the father of her children who, after lying to the police, ended up confessing the horror to the investigators.

Fake Maddie McCann
From February 2023 and for several weeks, Julia Faustyna, a young Polish woman, claimed to be Maddie McCann, the girl who vanished on May 3, 2007 at the age of 4 in Portugal. After DNA tests and many twists and turns, it turned out that was not the case.

Murder of Agnès Lassalle in Saint-Jean-de-Luz
Agnès Lassalle, a 52-year-old Spanish teacher, was stabbed to death in the middle of class by a 16-year-old student who claimed in police custody to have acted on orders from a “little voice” in her head.

Murder of little Rose in the Vosges
Rose, 5, was buried in Metz on May 5, 2023. The girl was killed in Rambervillers, in the Vosges. Her body was found naked in a plastic bag on April 25, 2023, hours after her parents reported her missing to the police. The suspect in his murder, a 15-year-old teenager, had already been indicted for rape of a minor in 2022.
