This Saturday, July 16, the beauty contest jury met at the Palais Régional Omnisport Georges Theolade in Matoury to elect the young woman who will succeed Melysa Stephenson. In the presence of Sylvie Tellier and Diane Leyre, Miss France 2022, it was the magnificent Shaïna Robin who won the crown and the scarf of Miss Guyana 2022. Aged only 20, the beauty queen is currently a second-year student in the preparatory class for the Grandes Écoles of Science.. His dream ? Become an airline pilot one day “contribute to the opening up of [s]we territory”, as she explained on the Kourou site. The one who wore number 8 is 1m73 tall and is from the city of Kourou.
Shaïna Robin describes herself as a woman “epicurean, dynamic and optimistic” who prefers to see the bright side of things. “For me, the sky remains the most beautiful place on earth”, continued the new Miss Guyana. This is also why she dreams of becoming an airline pilot. Also passionate about sports, which contributes to her “physical and mental balance”, Shaïna Robin practices table tennis in a club and practiced athletics. The values she intends to defend thanks to her title? “Loyalty, equity and justice because they are for social cohesion”. As for the cause that is closest to the heart of Miss Guyana 2022, it is “access to studies for young people from remote communities” because they “see their dreams and their futures hampered by remoteness and the lack of places to stay”.
Miss Guyana: “Make your life a dream”
“Having been through this, I hope to be a source of motivation for young Guyanese. My favorite quote? Make your life a dream, and a dream a reality”, concluded Shaïna Robin. On stage before her election, she made a strong impression by declaring her love for Guyana. “Guyana has a rich cultural diversity and this is what makes it unique. In fact, I myself am living proof of this. Do you know my origins?, she asked the audience. I am of Brazilian origin by my father and of Bushinengue origin by my mother. Thanks to this multiculturalism, I was able to experience two key moments in my life. The celebration of my 15 years, which I was able to celebrate in Brazil, which is called quince años which marks the passage from adolescence to young woman. This ceremony is also done among the bushinengues, which I was able to perform in the Maroni.” Like Herenui Tuheiava, Miss Tahiti, we will find Shaïna Robin next December in Châteauroux.
