You missed a meeting Microsoft Teams, or did you arrive late? No big deal, GPT is now here to save the day. In its new Teams Premium offer, Microsoft integrates (among other things) an intelligent recap feature powered largely by OpenAI AI.

Microsoft rolled out its Teams Premium offer at the beginning of the year, mainly aimed at professionals and businesses. Among the key features then promised by the Redmond giant, an intelligent summary of missed meetings, boosted by OpenAI’s GPT technology. This function is now available reports Windows Central.

GPT invites itself into Teams…

This new function, you will understand, allows you to catch up on a missed meeting, but also to review a portion of the meeting that you would like to see again. To do this, it takes advantage of a GPT-based AI capable of dynamically generating meeting notes, but also recommended tasks, while highlighting certain highlights of a meeting, in a personalized way.

If we go into detail, this function will notably create personalized time markers, visible only to you. These markers can for example indicate when a person is mentioned by name, when a screen has been shared or even when someone has left the meeting. Convenient to know at a glance if you missed something important.

A function full of good ideas

Microsoft also relies on a visual representation of speaking time by speaker, again allowing easy access to the most important parts of a meeting. As Windows Central points out, these markers show when people have spoken, and they’re organized by who the user works with most frequently…which could be really handy. Please note that the chapters promised by Microsoft are not yet supported. Expected later, the latter will be there to divide the automatic report of the meetings into sections and/or by subjects discussed.

Finally, note that the normal version of Microsoft Teams, although less feature-rich, also has a meeting summary function. The “Details” tab for a meeting provides links to the meeting transcript, its recording, and any notes taken manually during the meeting, among other things.
