In Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1Ethan Hunt and his IMF team embark on their most perilous mission yet: hunt down a dreadful new weapon before it falls into the wrong hands and threatens all of humanity.

Control of the future and the fate of the world hang in the balance. As the dark forces of his past resurface, Ethan embarks on a deadly race around the globe. Faced with a powerful and enigmatic enemy, Ethan realizes that nothing can stand above his mission — not even the lives of those he loves.

We know, this Mission: Impossible 7 has an impressive running time of 2h 36min, without the end credits. This is explained by the very nature of the film, announced as the first part of the conclusion of the adventures of Ethan Hunt, a second part already being scheduled for release on June 26, 2024. A grand finale which therefore requires the installation of new characters and issues that will span two films.

Who is in charge of the film?

We take the same and start again. As on the two previous opuses, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1 sees the return behind the camera of director Christopher McQuarrie (jack reacherbut also screenwriter ofUsual Suspects). He is assisted in writing by Erik Jendresen (Brothers in arms).

Along with running in front of the camera, Tom Cruise is also a producer on the film. A position he has held since the very first opus, released in 1996.

Music lovers will appreciate the music of Lorne Balfe, already at work in Mission: Impossible – Falloutbut also other recognized projects such as the films Tetris, black adam, Dungeons & Dragons or series The Crown And At the crossroads of worlds.

What release date?

While the start of filming was scheduled for February 2020, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning suffered greatly from the pandemic; work had to be interrupted numerous times after team members were infected with Covid-19.

With complex sequences to be shot all around the world — in Italy, Norway, England, Switzerland… — production finally wrapped up in September 2021, more than 20 months after it started.

The film was originally scheduled for release in the summer of 2021, before being pushed back to May and then September 2022. Due to the many interruptions during production, this Mission: Impossible 7 will be released on July 12, 2023 in France and the United States.

What casting for Mission: Impossible 7 ?

Again, fans will not be disoriented, and will find the faces of previous films. Around the indestructible Tom Cruise, Ving Rhames (pulp Fiction), Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead), Rebecca Ferguson (Dunes) and Vanessa Kirby (Pieces of a woman) are back.

In addition to the arrival of Hayley Atwell (Avengers: Endgame) in the cast, fans of the franchise will be happy to see familiar faces: Henry Czerny in the role of Eugene Kittridge, and Rolf Saxon in that of William Donloe.
