Mission Impossible – Rogue Nation: What's Next for Part Seven?

Ethan Hunt's fifth impossible mission can be seen on TV, while the seventh is still pending in the cinema. What is the status of Mission: Impossible 7?

On October 2, the fifth part of the fast-paced "Mission: Impossible" series, nicknamed "Rogue Nation" (8:15 pm, ProSieben) can be seen. While lead actor Tom Cruise (58) had to fight his way through six almost impossible missions, the upcoming seventh is likely to have been the most challenging in real life – and that is not only due to the corona virus. What about top agent Ethan Hunt's new assignment?

Delayed mission

The filming in Venice was interrupted for the first time in February, but because of the corona lockdown, it was then completely on hold. In addition, a fire accident on set in Great Britain in mid-August caused further delays when a motorcycle exploded after a stunt. Fortunately, nobody was injured.

In September filming in Norway could finally be resumed. The seventh part of the "Mission: Impossible" series is due to hit theaters on November 19, 2021 instead of July.

This is what "Rogue Nation" is all about

When agent Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) returns from a mission, he is kidnapped at the secret London base of the Impossible Mission Force (IMF) by Solomon Lane, the head of the underground organization "Syndicate". When he was able to free himself from the underground torture prison, he went into hiding. In the meantime, however, the IMF is subordinated to the CIA. MI6 also has its finger on the mission – and everyone is hunting the boss of the mysterious organization "Syndicate".
