Not all frying pans are alike – and in many cases we break them in the kitchen without even realizing it. Four mistakes in particular mean that we have to part with a favorite pan far too often because it is simply no longer usable.

Sensitive surfaces

Of course, none of us would deliberately destroy our pan – but depending on the material, pretty much every pan has a sensitive point that can severely clog it. And the sad truth is: Once a pan has been damaged, it can usually no longer be saved. If parts of the surface have already crumbled off, it is too late and there is no other choice but to buy a new frying pan. But the good news is: if you know what to look out for, there is ideally no reason to part with your favorite pan.
