Available on CANAL+ from this Monday, February 26, the American series Mister Spade was filmed in a region of France.

We were impatiently waiting for it: the American series Mister Spade finally sees the light of day! This Monday, February 26, from 9 p.m. on CANAL+viewers will finally be able to discover the first six episodes.

“Around twenty years have passed since the events of “The Maltese Falcon”. Retired Detective Sam Spade longs for peace and quiet, but the macabre discovery of six murdered nuns will throw him into an investigation into troubled waters”reveals the synopsis.

A filming which took place in Occitania

On the screen, you are certainly likely to recognize certain landscapes… Especially if you live in Occitania. Indeed, since 2022, Mister Spade experienced several filming locations in this region of France, notably in Gard, in Sauve. For the occasion, director Scott Frank and actors Clive Owen, Louise Bourgoin and Denis Ménochet set down their bags in this picturesque village, accompanied by a large crew and around ten extras.

The village of Bozouls at the heart of the intrigue

“We are a small, modest town, but I have good hope to be the icing on Mr. Spade’s cake », exclaimed the mayor of Sauve, Olivier Gaillard, during filming. For the scenes to be done in the studio, the production decided to stay in Occitanie and shoot in the France Télévisons studios in Vendargues, in Hérault. Filming also took place in other towns in the south of France, including Pézenas and Pignan in Hérault or even Bozouls, in Aveyron… This village where a large part of the plot takes place!
