MMA star Mikuru Asakura finds his place in Yakuza 8

As a reminder, the production of Yakuza 8 was confirmed last October at the same time as the departures of creative director Toshihiro Nagoshi and producer Daisuke Sato, who left to join NetEase and start a new adventure under the name Nagoshi Studio. Today, in a video published on his channel, we can see the fighter Mikuru Asakura respond to the invitation of Haruki Satomi (general manager of Sega) and Masayoshi Yokoyama (director of RGG Studio).

The visit to the development studio is an opportunity to catch a glimpse of the faces of the protagonists who have already met in Yakuza: Like a Dragon, in particular Ichiban Kasuga who is distinguished by a new hairstyle, while Nanba and Adachi have not changed an inch. In any case, the images unsurprisingly suggest a direct sequel to the previous episode, which had, as a reminder, attempted an RPG turn with its turn-based combat system.

The importance of the role of Mikuru Asakura, who can be seen having his portrait drawn for his in-game modeling, is not yet known, but perhaps more important is the confirmation that Yakuza 8 will offer a city change. During the conversation, we also learn that RGG Studio is at work on another unannounced game on the sidelines of Yakuza 8.
