Moana 2: a surprise sequel to the Disney film will be released in 2024 and we already have images!

Disney studios created a surprise by unveiling a secret project: a sequel to “Moana”, announced in theaters at the end of 2024. And the first images confirm it.

Eight years later, Vaiana is once again exploring the waters! The heroine, who attracted more than 5.6 million French spectators to the cinema in 2016, will return to the big screen in November 2024 (the French date is not yet known) in a sequel that Disney studios had kept completely secret until then.

At a time when the cinema world is regularly spoiled, it’s rare enough to be reported!

The first images, short but promising, to be seen above, have been revealed by Disney Animation.

If we knew that a live action adaptation was in development, with Dwayne Johnson giving substance to Maui to whom he lent his voice in the animated film, this Moana 2 is therefore totally unexpected.

It is in reality an evolution of a Disney+ series project, ultimately transposed into a feature-length cinema film. We don’t know anything more at the moment, with the exception of the return of the young woman and her demigod friend, present in the first official visual with a magnificent whale shark.

We can also bet that the cute pig Pua, the hilarious rooster Hey Hey (a legend!) and the endearing tattoo Mini-moi will be there…

Christmas 2024 will be lively, let it be said!

There will therefore be a Christmas Disney in 2024, and they will take us towards new horizons “where the sea touches the sky and calls me” (known tune). Very good news for cinemas, which will also be able to count on many other animated offerings to attract young and old.

We are indeed awaiting the prequel to The Lion King, Mufasa, (released December 18), The Most Precious Goods by Michel Hazanavicius (released November 20), Piece By Piece or the life of Pharrell Williams in LEGO (released November 20 ), the return of Niko the little reindeer in Mission Père Noël (released December 4) or the highly anticipated The Lord Of The Rings: The War Of Rohirrim, which will revisit a major event in Middle-earth in animation.
