Mobile game Bravely Default: Brilliant Lights is shutting down but an offline version may be coming

Sad news for those who waited Bravely Default: Brilliant Lights, released at the very beginning of the year in Japan. Obviously, the mobile game has not found its audience and Square Enix intends to stop the costs very soon with a shutdown of the servers already scheduled for the beginning of next year.

An offline version on the program?

The mobile spin-off of the JRPG saga will not last long. Launched only a few months ago, Bravely Default: Brilliant Lights has not met with the expected success and must therefore face the imminent closure of its servers. The game has already removed the option to obtain premium currency, but the end of the service is only scheduled for February 28, 2023. Before that, the last chapter of the story as well as other small contents will be added.

The mobile game will therefore not see the light of day here, at least not in this form. In fact, it is not all bad news, since Square Enix says it is studying the possibility of releasing an offline version of the game, in order to be able to discover this story without all the service-embedding originally planned. For the moment, the Japanese publisher has no other details to provide, but we can only hope that the title will return in a premium version on mobiles (and who knows, maybe on Switch).
