Mobileye: The stock climbs after a contract with VW


(CercleFinance.com) – Mobileye shares rose more than 5% on Wednesday on the New York Stock Exchange, the driving assistance specialist having won a contract with the automobile giant Volkswagen.

After a ‘pilot’ phase carried out on German and American roads, Volkswagen ADMT, the autonomous vehicle subsidiary of the German group, explains that it has decided to sign a cooperation agreement with Mobileye with a view to putting the ID into production. Buzz AD, its future all-electric van with autonomous driving.

Under the terms of the agreement, Mobileye will be responsible for designing and supplying software, hardware and digital mapping tools for the vehicle.

The collaboration also includes the delivery of an autonomous driving system (SDS) for a special version of the ID. Buzz.

In order to meet the ‘Level 4’ standard (high autonomy) set up by the SAE, Mobileye will have to develop two separate high-performance computers, based on a total of 13 cameras, nine lidar equipment and five radars, with the aim of providing a complete 360 ​​degree analysis of the environment.
