“Modcast”, the podcast whose fabrics are the heroines

In her “Modcast” podcast, journalist Hélène Altmann gives the “voice” to clothing and accessories, more specifically to key models in the history of fashion. In each episode, I meet a play and I interview it. This one therefore testifies in the first person », tells the designer of “Modcast” who calls on actors to make Schiaparelli’s hat-shoe speak (1937), a flying dress from the 18th centurye century or, soon, Martin Margiela’s cut-out poster waistcoat (1990). “I do voice casting to find the one who will be most likely to embody the clothing-character, says Hélène Altmann, who developed this project with the Palais Galliera, Fashion Museum of the City of Paris. We have chosen the most amazing pieces among the 200 000 works owned by the museum. »

To establish the biography of the models, the journalist carries out in-depth research, supported by the curators of the Palais Galliera. The sound content is enriched with music, ambient sounds, but also noises from clothing: rustling of fabrics, linings, tinkling of metal parts… Added to this are descriptions of the colors and sensations produced on the body during gate. Twelve episodes are planned, two per month.
