Model Y affected – Tesla: investigation into falling steering wheels

The US traffic safety agency NHTSA has launched an investigation into the electric car manufacturer Tesla for possible falling steering wheels. 120,000 Tesla Model Y from the year 2023 are affected.

The investigations were triggered by two reports that the steering wheel of both vehicles came loose while driving. The electric cars were delivered without the fastening screw. No statement from Tesla The investigation is intended to disclose the extent, frequency and manufacturing process. It is a first step before a recall could be requested. Tesla initially did not respond to a request for comment. Second recall within a few days Just a few days ago, the NHTSA recalled more than 360,000 Tesla models with the top autopilot “Full Self-Driving Beta” – due to autopilot problems and the resulting risk of accidents. According to the NHTSA, Model S, Model X, Model 3 and Model Y vehicles that are equipped with the “Full Self-Driving Beta” software – a technology for automated driving – are affected. A class action lawsuit has been filed (see video above).
