Modern Warfare 2: Player frustration is mounting over this major issue!

On Friday, September 16, PS4 and PS5 players were able to play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 for the first time through its first phase of beta. If we gave our opinion a few days ago through a special little paper, you are aware that the game is very promising. Nevertheless, it still has its small flaws, but there is one more particularly which is quite frustrating: that of the visibility of enemies.

Visibility, a big black spot in Modern Warfare 2?

If you’ve been playing Call of Duty for a few years, certain elements must have jumped out at you when you launched a game of Modern Warfare 2. If some have indeed criticized the minimap with the absence of red dots, or at least its very very wobbly system, other players did not hesitate to point out the absence of the display of player nicknames above their heads.

For years now, Call of Duty games have made it possible to have real visibility on enemies thanks to their nicknames which are displayed in red just above their heads when they shoot them. But in this beta of Modern Warfare 2, the display is unfortunately absentso add to that the fact that the skins of the operators are quite dark, plus anything that could clutter the view, so it is very difficult to perceive the enemies to kill, and the community has not been shy to make it clear on Reddit.

Given the current visibility issues and visual clutter (especially when firing a weapon), we need the return of enemy nameplates. Far too many engagements require guessing, even with decently zoomed scopes. With the fast TTK and visibility issues, I sometimes forget that this beta is a Core release and not a Hardcore one.
Edit: I think this is a much bigger problem than players realize. Over time, I think we will discuss it more. However, I saw that in the Interface menu there is an option for enemy nameplates, so this may just be a very big bug.

In this publication posted by the user responding to the name of dynamicflashythe author acknowledges thatthis is most likely a huge display bugsince in the game options, and more specifically in the HUD settings, we indeed have the possibility to adjust the display of the names of the players, and this option is set by default to “Full Name. Therefore, we have much to hope for the resolution of this problem which has been quite painful during these few days of beta on PS4 and PS5.
