Mom berated for breastfeeding baby in store

Recently, a mother with her infant was berated when she checked out at an H&M store for "daring to breastfeed" her baby while shopping. The young woman did not fail to share her story on social networks, widely shared since.

This week, Cindy Gabet was shopping in a shopping arcade in Besançon (Doubs) accompanied by her 9-year-old daughter and her infant. At the checkout of a clothing store H&M, the young woman was reprimanded by a saleswoman for having breastfed her baby. One of his colleagues had surprised the mother a few minutes earlier breastfeeding her child. The seller then asked one of the store workers to reprimand the young woman. for breastfeeding her infant while shopping at checkout.

Scandalized by the remarks as well as by the attitude of the seller, Cindy Gabet shared the story of her mishap on her account Facebook. "TO YOU, the salesman of H&M !!! We are on familiar terms eh, since anyway, you did not really show me respect by asking me to go FEED MY BABY TO THE TOILET !!! even less shown going through the young saleswoman to pass me the message! Then when I ask this person to go and find me the author of this request, come back with another woman because supposedly you were gone, but what nerve !", begins the young woman. The mother explains that she is wearing a tank top in order to "hide as much as possible" Her chest when she breastfeeds her child away from home. "Basically unless we are looking for the little beast (or should I say the little nipple ?), we do not see anything, I do not unwrap my breasts at all costs. And then even well, the breasts are made for feed above all, it is society which has sexualized them! ", she declares in the rest of her message.

"It's a shame to ask me to breastfeed my baby in the toilet, YOU, do you eat and drink in the toilet ?? !! Would I have been told the same if I had gave my child a bottle ?? !! ", she then adds.

Cindy Gabet said the mishap would not prevent her from continuing to breastfeed her baby in stores if necessary. "I will continue to breastfeed everywhere, and type scandals in the stores if necessary, because NO, breastfeeding mothers, we do not have to be ashamed and to hide, it is those who point the finger at us who should question themselves !!!"she continued.

The young mother concluded her message by assuring that she did not intend to boycott the sign but that she wanted to share his story so that "no breastfeeding mom feels guilty or ashamed " but also for "normalize breastfeeding".

The young woman's misadventure shocked many Internet users who did not fail to affirm their support for her. His post Facebook has been widely shared, liked and commented on since its publication.
