What is it about ?

Louise and Céline, two sisters separated by life, reunite after the worrying disappearance of their mother. Alone in these mountains, she will not survive long: the hours are now counted!

While the gendarmerie is on the case, the sisters with such opposite characters are convinced that she has not disappeared for no reason and decide together to investigate on their side. They will bring to light family secrets that had been well buried until then…

Tuesday March 14 at 9:10 p.m. on France 3.

Who is it with?

Directed by François Basset (Alexandra Ehle) and written by Matthieu Savignac (Police de Caractères), Maman has disappeared is carried by Claire Keim and Claire Borotra (Face à face), who respectively camp Céline and Louise.

Their missing mother is played by Nicole Calfan, whom we have recently been able to see in Gloria. For his part, Loup-Denis Elion, alias Cédric in Scènes de Ménages, slips into the skin of Captain Mercier, the policeman in charge of the investigation. Brigitte Aubry (Sam) and Jean-Michel Noirey (De Gaulle, the shine and the secret) complete the cast.

It’s worth checking out ?

Louise and Céline are sisters. And yet, everything opposes them. The first is a veterinarian in the small village where she grew up and has returned to live with her mother, Caroline, for the time to get her struggling couple back on their feet.

The second fled the countryside to become a tattoo artist in town, where she accumulates petty crimes. But when their mother mysteriously disappears, Céline finds her sister to lend her a hand in this investigation which will bring out many family secrets that everyone thought were buried. They will have to put their resentment aside to try to find their mother before it’s too late.

Maman has disappeared is led by the duo Claire Keim / Claire Borotra which works wonderfully. The two actresses, whose reputation is second to none, share an undeniable chemistry that makes their relationship touching, while infusing real emotion into the fiction.

Unfortunately, if the police plot is well put together, it tends to run out of steam, the fault of a somewhat confused resolution that loses the viewer. Even if the outcome, and the discovery of the culprit, manages to surprise us, the conclusion and the many family secrets revealed unnecessarily complicate the scenario.
