Money and cards gone – pensioner with a walker was robbed at the train station

A particularly shameful theft was committed on Sunday in the area of ​​Innsbruck’s main train station. The victim was a man (72) with walking difficulties who had stowed his bag on his walker. The thief shamelessly took advantage of this opportunity.

According to the police, the perpetrator reached into the bag lying on the walker and stole a bag of money from it. Inside there was a little more than 100 euros, a bank wallet and a train wallet. The thief then fled. Police arrested the suspect, but the perpetrator didn’t get far. In the course of the investigation, the executive arrested a 37-year-old Austrian as a suspect a short time later. Further surveys are underway.
