Although the employment figures in Austria are looking good despite the Corona crisis, it is not at all easy for the self-employed, many have lost their livelihoods.Bentley was once the big competitor of Rolls-Royce, but is no longer as aloof and luxurious as it is the brand from Goodwood, West Sussex. The Volkswagen subsidiary sold 14,659 vehicles worldwide last year. That is 31 percent more than in 2020. 40 percent of sales are for the Bentayga SUV, while every third buyer opts for the Continental GT. The remaining 27 percent is accounted for by the Flying Spur. The main market is the USA, just ahead of China. Both countries account for 57 percent of total sales, and Rolls-Royce’s order books will be full by autumn 2022. An end to the luxury boom is therefore not to be expected for the time being – one can probably read something in common with the pandemic.
