TV cult character Monk has actually been in well-deserved retirement for 14 years. But now he returns for one last case.
The television series “Monk,” which was also extremely popular in Germany, ended in 2009 after an impressive 125 episodes. But Emmy award winner and leading actor Tony Shalhoub (70) will return in December for one last case as detective Adrian Monk, plagued by neuroses and phobias. For the streaming film “Mr. Monk’s Last Case: A Monk Movie” is The first trailer has now been released.
That’s what “Mr. Monk’s Last Case: A Monk Movie” is about
After his legendary career as a crime fighter, Adrian Monk (Shalhoub) is actually retired. But when his stepdaughter Molly’s fiancé (Caitlin McGee, 35) is found murdered, Monk does everything he can to solve the case, which is very personal to him.
In his streaming film, which will be released in the USA on December 8th by Peacock, the main character Monk still suffers from numerous obsessive-compulsive disorders. For example, returnee Jason Gray-Stanford (playing Lieutenant Disher, 53) says in the trailer “He’s afraid of heights. It’s his second biggest fear after germs,” whereupon returnee Traylor Howard (57), who plays assistant Natalie Teeger, clarifies: “Actually the order: germs, needles, birds, then comes the fear of heights.”
A German home or a start date has not yet been set for “Mr. Monk’s Last Case: A Monk Movie”.
